We are looking for a dynamic "Packaging Material Specialist"
who is responsible for finding sustainable solutions for the company's products packaging by helping them achieve a successful transition to plastic-free, recycled, recyclable or biodegradable mono-material packaging. 

Most importantly, he/she will be at the heart of a company growing at double digit growth for the past 5 years, with an accelerated project objective of 400+ formulations & 180+ products.

Packaging Material Specialist Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with product designers to ensure product packaging exceeds all design requirements
  • Work with logistics and design departments to determine necessary packaging materials and attendant price increases
  • Present project advances and challenges to key leadership and stakeholders
  • Offer packaging solutions that are efficient, eco-friendly, and leave little of an environmental footprint.
  • Complete all phases of the development of process-compliant packaging, such as testing, assessing, and approving samples and technical drawings, etc.
  • Record shipping information such as the date and time of shipment, shipping company contact information, track numbers, and insurance information
  • Install labels on bottles, cans, boxes, or other containers
  • Maintain compatibility between packaging and formula throughout the development process
  • Foresee, recognize, explain, and provide novel technology solutions to the risks analysis difficulties.
  • Provide the suppliers the whole technical communication brief, along with the packaging specs, including tolerances.
  • Always enhancing testing protocols and package standards.

Packaging Material Specialist Skills and Requirements:

  • Bachelor or Masters in Industrial Engineering, Technical Engineering, or relevant field; Doctorate candidates will have priority
  • A minimum of two to three years' experience creating packaging for cosmetics or other industries that apply
  • Ability to design, create and understand technical package drawings.
  • Ability to locate, evaluate, and research new packaging providers (experience in sustainable packaging is a plus)
  • Strong analytical mindset
  • Very fluent in English
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
