Senior Specialist, DevOps

Beirut – OMT Head office

Responsible for building, maintaining and scaling our CI/CD infrastructure, supporting developers in automation and bridging the gap between development and operations/security. Also, responsible for the optimization on deployment systems at OMT.

DevOps Projects

• Implements and manages containerized applications and orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes

• Evaluates continuously and integrates new DevOps tools and practices

• Maintains and optimizes local as well as cloud infrastructure services such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud

• Documents system architecture, processes, and automation scripts thoroughly

• Automates infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and management using tools like Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation

• Monitors systems performance and implements proactive measures to enhance reliability and performance

• Performs regular security checks and implements best practices for compliance and risk mitigation

• Designs and maintains CI/CD pipelines across multiple environments

• Promotes and enforces Git best practices as Version Control Systems (VCS)

• Collaborates with software developers to optimize application performance and resource usage

• Provides support during deployments and troubleshoots production issues in a timely manner

Process Improvement

• Analyses the current processes to identify any areas of improvements and proactively seek solutions and recommendations across the division

• Handles the process design, evaluation and implementation in functional areas

• Collaborates and trains colleagues on new processes, procedures and systems all while sharing ideas and supporting projects

Qualifications:

• Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, MIS/Business Computing or Computer & Communication Engineering

• Master's is preferable

Technical Skills:

• Proficiency in English and Arabic; French is a plus

• Experience working on Linux-based infrastructure

• Strong experience in introducing containerization

• Excellent understanding of Ruby, Bash, Python, Perl, and Java

• Ability to configure and manage databases such as MySQL, Mongo

• Excellent troubleshooting

• Working knowledge of various tools and cloud services

• Awareness of critical concepts in DevOps and Agile principles (Jira)

• Proven experience in CI/CD tools (Jenkins)

• Proficient with Git and branching strategies

• Strong communication and cross-team collaboration skills

Relevant Experience:

• 7-10 years of relevant experience in DevOps
