Media Content Assistant

Job Description:
Horizons International is seeking a Media Content Assistant to assist in various parts of the creative production process—from concept to distribution. This role ensures that every piece of content reflects the intended vision, maintains quality, and aligns with our mission. The ideal candidate will coordinate between content creators, videographers, editors, and social media managers, ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow. You'll play a key role in transforming ideas and long-form materials into engaging, high-impact social media content that resonates with diverse audiences across platforms.

Key Responsibilities

1. Content Planning & Creation Assistance

• Repurpose and adapt long-form content (interviews, lectures, podcasts) into multiple "snackable" video formats.
• Edit and assemble raw footage into polished, dynamic, and engaging content optimized for TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, and Facebook.
• Plan/Create short-form, attention-grabbing content that aligns with current social media trends and platform best practices.
• Identify content that requires filming or recording to meet project goals.

2. Filming & Audio Recording Assistance

• Schedule filming and recording sessions with the media team and presenters.
• Attend filming sessions to ensure content aligns with the planned vision, needs of the target audience, and meets quality standards.
• Ensure that the creative vision is faithfully executed throughout the production process.

3. Post-Production Follow-up

• Follow-up with editing clips to maintain storytelling flow and pacing.
• Ensure all videos adhere to brand guidelines, project specifications, and accessibility requirements.
• Coordinate timelines to ensure projects are delivered on schedule.

4. Collaboration & Strategy

• Work closely with content and production staff, videographers, editors, social media managers, and clients to conceptualize and execute video campaigns.
• Incorporate feedback efficiently from stakeholders to deliver final edits.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest social media video trends, editing techniques, and platform algorithm changes, integrating them into creative strategies.

5. Workflow Coordination

• Organize, manage, and archive all video files, project media, and assets to ensure a smooth workflow.
• Deliver final video files in required formats and resolutions optimized for each platform.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining high quality and meeting deadlines.

6. Platform Management and Posting

• Think strategically about our existing platforms and target audiences, to optimize content and posting strategies.

• Evaluate and prioritize creation of new platforms (our brands and social media platforms).
  
  

Required Skills & Experience:

• 2+ years of professional experience in social media or digital marketing, demonstrated by a strong portfolio/reel.
• Proficiency in CapCut; Adobe Suite is a plus.
• Deep understanding of video content requirements, styles, and audience expectations for social platforms.
• Exceptional visual storytelling skills with a strong sense of pace, timing, and narrative structure.
• Creative eye for layout and visual design for promotional materials.
• Meticulous attention to detail in post-production, including content, audio and visual quality control.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills, with the ability to articulate creative decisions clearly.
• Familiarity with storage solutions for media management (e.g., Dropbox).
