Logistics Specialist

Key Responsibilities:
1- Plan, direct, and coordinate the transportation, distribution of material, and products (Import, Export or cross shipping, Sea, Air, and Land if any)
2- Develop forecasting plan for shipping and transportation and documentation
3- Verify products/material are delivered to an accurate destination in a timely manner.
4- Maintain schedules and deadlines.
5- Comply with plant standards and shipping regulations.
6- Work with loading and warehouse personnel to ensure shipments and cost targets are met.
7- Work with production personnel to verify materials needed to match production schedule
8- Hire freight forwarders/and or shipping lines with proven accuracy.
9- Request and negotiate freight quotations with forwarders.
10- Interact and follow up with freight forwarders to ensure timely delivery of shipments.
11- Request sailing schedules from forwarders.
12- Prepare documentation, update files, and send documents to clients for approval.
13- Coordinate with other departments within the company to ensure that export documentation is completed properly.
14- Follow up with our clearing agents in order to ensure that the custom clearance process is completed on time and without any deviation from the agreed terms (Demurrage or customs penalties or extra detention or extra storage fees)
15- To check and control the shipping and customs clearance invoices
16- To create files/reports and through ODOO logging all necessary data related to any shipment (B/L #, B/L date, ETD ETA, POL, POD. Real arrival date, clearance date, warehouse receiving date)
17- Assist forwarders and customs brokers in handling and resolving freight claims and issues.
18- To Document and escalate any customer service issues and/ or shipping/ receiving errors.
19- Assist in spare parts and consumables purchase
20- Assist in sourcing new suppliers
21- Follow up payments with accounting team
22- Documentation and archiving
23- Support senior staff
Educational Background:
Bachelor's degree in business administration, or similar
Logistics related certifications are a plus
Qualifications: MS Office Suite
Technical Skills:
International Trade Laws & Regulations, Freight Management, Inventory & Order Management, Shipping Documentation, Customs Documentation, Regulatory Compliance
Soft Skills:
Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills: Cost Optimization, Risk Management, Data-Driven Decision Making
Time Management, Attention to Detail
