For every child, Protection

Lebanon will introduce the HPV vaccine in 2026, following NITAG's recommendation for a single-dose schedule for 10-year-old girls and a catch-up phase for older groups. While policy and financing preparations are in place, the programme must address local sensitivities around adolescent vaccination and ongoing vaccine hesitancy.

To support a smooth rollout, the focus is on SBC-CE efforts, including training frontline workers, engaging communities through partners, monitoring rumors and feedback, and providing technical support. Vaccination is set to begin in September 2026, led by the Ministry of Public Health with support from UNICEF and WHO.

Technical Support to Implementing Partners for Community Engagement Activities: Provide guidance and oversight to selected implementing partners on planning, messaging, mobilization, and reporting of SBC-CE activities with municipalities, faith leaders, caregivers and other stakeholders.

• Partner receives regular technical guidance.
• SBC-CE activities implemented reaching 10,000 people direct and 100,000 through mass/social media.
• Documentation of lessons learned.

Rumor Monitoring & Feedback: Collect/analyze rumors and community feedback from existing mechanisms or establish new one, if needed, produce regular reports for HPV Taskforce.

Documentation & Final Reporting: Compile lessons learned, prepare final technical report and PPT, and recommendations for future SBC-CE work on immunization.

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have… 

Minimum requirements:

• Advanced university degree in Public Health, Social/Behavioral Sciences, Development communication, Community Engagement or related field.
• At least 4-5 years of professional experience in Social & Behavior Change, risk communication, community engagement, with a strong focus on field-level implementation and training support.
• Experience in immunization demand generation and/or new vaccine introduction strongly preferred.
  
• Practical experience in field-level immunization demand generation and community engagement implementation.
  
• Proven ability to deliver trainings (ToT and cascades) and coach frontline workers, CHWs, and mobilizers.
  
• Experience in providing technical support to NGOs/CBOs and monitoring community-based activities.
  
• Experience in rumor monitoring and community feedback mechanisms is an asset.
  
• Strong facilitation, coordination, and reporting skills.
  
• Excellent command of English and Arabic (spoken and written).
