Our client is a major leading importer and distributor of food products in Lebanon, ISO certified with more than 100 seafood products Looking for a new "Purchasing Officer" in their Beirut office.
The Purchasing Officer will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and procuring goods and products for the supermarket in Mansourieh. This role ensures that the store is stocked with high-quality items at competitive prices while maintaining optimal inventory levels.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and source products from reliable suppliers to meet the supermarkets needs.
- Negotiate prices, payment terms, and contracts with vendors.
- Monitor stock levels and reorder goods as needed to prevent shortages.
- Conduct market research to stay updated on product trends and pricing.
- Ensure that all purchases meet quality and safety standards.
- Maintain accurate records of orders, deliveries, and supplier information.
- Collaborate with store managers to forecast demand and plan for upcoming promotions.
- Manage relationships with suppliers to ensure timely deliveries and resolve any issues.
- Proven experience as a Purchasing Officer, Buyer, or in a similar role.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Knowledge of supply chain management and procurement processes.
- Familiarity with supermarket products and trends is a plus.
- Proficiency in using inventory management software.
- Ability to work independently and make decisions in a fast-paced environment.
