Job DescriptionThis is a part-time role to oversee the finances of a small consultancy with a 25-year history ) and a new startup it's incubating )As Finance Manager, your goal is to maximize available resources for sustaining and growing both companies while keeping their books properly separated and using AI and other available tech & team resources for maximum efficiency. This includes the following:Lead internal finance operations: bookkeeping, payroll, expense approvals, and fund transfersOversee external bookkeepers and fill in gaps where tasks are out of scope for themMaintain weekly budget updates and real-time cash runway visibility for exec teamReview and validate expenses, including contractor time tracking and outputsEnsure payment deadlines are met and move money from investment accounts into cash accounts promptly to meet pending obligationsDevelop processes to minimize unneeded finance expense such as bank fees & credit card interest chargesResearch, obtain, formalize, and utilize tactical financing resources such as lines of credit as neededMaintain separation between ImpactSoul and RampRate finances and establish operational frameworks to support audit-readinessUse AI tools to separate corporate vs. personal expenses for CEO using corporate credit cardsMaintain and organize QuickbooksManage interactions with outsourced payroll / benefits providers and Braintrust contractor platformManage interactions with tax / regulatory authorities and local representatives in each state the company operates inStreamline and optimize financial processes to minimize exceptions and CEO involvementDeal with non-standard transactions, whether SAFE investment funds in ImpactSoul, cryptocurrency payments to RampRateRecommend and oversee additional finance resources such as a tax accountant or fractional CFO to ensure ImpactSoul and RampRate are in compliance with all relevant tax / regulatory requirements and pass investor due diligence.Success Scorecard: Your progress in this role will be evaluated by the following success metrics:Cash Flow VisibilityCEO has an updated understanding of cash flow position at each financial decision juncture, including upcoming paymentsTarget: Zero insufficient fund fees; zero late payment fees; zero accidentally past-due bills Payroll & Contractor PaymentsEnsure employees and contractors are paid promptly and correctlyTarget: 100% processed in committed timeline with documented approvalsInvoice & expense paymentsEnsure approved bills are paid promptlyZero unauthorized payments; 100% others paid
