Job Summary:
The Production Scheduling Assistant will support the production scheduling team by assisting in the coordination, planning, and tracking of manufacturing activities. This role is critical in ensuring that production schedules are adhered to, materials are available, and deadlines are met efficiently.
Job Duties/Responsibilities:
- Production Scheduling Support:
- Assist in creating and maintaining production schedules based on order requirements, inventory levels, and production capacity.
- Monitor and update schedules to reflect changes in production needs or priorities.
- Data Management:
- Input and maintain production data in scheduling software or spreadsheets.
- Generate and analyze reports related to production schedules, inventory, and order status.
- Coordination and Communication:
- Communicate with production staff, suppliers, and other departments to ensure timely availability of materials and resources.
- Address any scheduling conflicts or delays and work to resolve them promptly.
- Administrative Tasks:
- Prepare and distribute production schedules, work orders, and other relevant documents.
- Maintain accurate records of production activities and schedules.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Assist in identifying areas for process improvements and contribute to the development of more efficient scheduling practices.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and experience with production scheduling software (e.g., ERP systems) is preferred.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Detail-oriented with focus on accuracy and timeliness.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in ERP software, production scheduling, manufacturing is preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Office environment sitting at a computer with occasional visits to the production floor.
