Job DescriptionThe Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) will provide strategic leadership and direction for all marketing, branding, and business development activities across the organization. This executive will play a pivotal role in positioning the company as a market leader in construction services by driving brand differentiation, client engagement, and market growth.
As a member of the executive leadership team, the CMO will collaborate closely with the CEO, COO, and other senior leaders to align marketing and business development initiatives with corporate objectives, ensuring sustainable growth and competitive advantage in the construction and infrastructure sectors.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
- Develop and execute a comprehensive marketing and business development strategy aligned with organizational goals.
- Position the company as a trusted industry leader through strategic messaging, branding, and market positioning.
- Identify target markets, growth opportunities, and partnership strategies in collaboration with executive leadership.
- Oversee the marketing budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources
Brand & Reputation Management
- Lead the development and management of the company's brand identity and corporate reputation.
- Promote the organization's project portfolio, safety performance, and innovation through integrated marketing and PR (public relations) campaigns.
- Ensure brand consistency across all proposals, presentations, and communications.
- Serve as the company's spokesperson in media and public relations engagements when appropriate.
Business Development & Client Relations
- Drive the company's business development strategy in coordination with estimating and project teams.
- Oversee proposal development, RFP/RFQ submissions, and presentation strategy to maximize proposition success rates.
- Cultivate strong relationships with key clients, developers, architects, and industry partners.
- Represent the company at conferences, trade shows, and professional associations to expand market presence.
Digital Marketing & Communications
- Lead the company's digital transformation efforts, including website development, social media, and digital advertising.
- Implement data-driven marketing approaches to track performance and inform decision-making.
- Manage public relations, media outreach, and community engagement to enhance visibility and goodwill.
- Oversee internal communications initiatives that strengthen culture, engagement, and alignment across teams.
Market Intelligence & Growth Initiatives
- Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify trends, risks, and emerging opportunities in the construction industry.
- Support strategic growth initiatives, including geographic expansion and diversification into new sectors.
Team Leadership
- Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing marketing team.
- Foster cross-departmental collaboration to ensure a unified client experience.
- Manage relationships with external creative agencies, consultants, and media partners.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field (MBA preferred).
- Minimum of 8 years of progressive marketing experience, including at least 4 years in a senior leadership role within the construction, engineering, or real estate development industry.
- Proven success developing and executing integrated marketing and business development strategies.
- Strong understanding of construction project lifecycles, procurement processes, and industry regulations.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in CRM platforms (Customer Relationship Management), marketing analytics, and digital marketing tools.
