DescriptionJOB SUMMARY:Provide speech, language, voice, and communication evaluations for the typically developing children as well as those with special needs, who are referred to the American University of Beirut Medical Center Special Kids Clinic (ASKC) to assess their respective level of functioning and provide appropriate interventions that will meet their individual needs. Support the mission and vision of the ASKC at the American University of Beirut Medical Center (AUBMC).ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS / TASK GROUPSGreet, receive, and create a positive experience for every patient/family by demonstrating a professional, caring, empathetic and friendly approach following the service excellence standards and guidelines.Address speech problems such as speech and language delay, stuttering and pronunciation, and written language problems such as learning disabilities and dyslexia.Assess communication environments surrounding the patient.Perform treatment procedures at the bedside for pediatric patients, including infants admitted to the Neonatology Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and Pediatrics and Adolescent Unit.Create, implement and revise the individual treatment program through working with patients on a one-to-one basis, and in groups, to deliver therapy.Instruct and advise parents on a speech, language, and communication treatment plan, and feeding plan if warranted.Write detailed reports upon evaluation as well as monitor and evaluate patient's progress.Consult and work with team members of the ASKC multidisciplinary team to incorporate appropriate strategies and goals into the child's plan to ensure the child's fullest development.Perform other related duties as assigned by direct supervisor.CRITICAL COMPETENCIESClient Focus - Professionalism - Initiative - Communication Skills - Ethical Practice - Problem Solving - Team Skills - Planning & Organizing KNOWLEDGE / KNOW-HOW:Knowledge: Knowledge of principles, methods, and procedures for diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of motor and sensory dysfunctions affecting speech and language.Education: Bachelor's Degree in Speech and Language Therapy. Master's Degree in Speech and Language Therapy is an asset. Experience:  5-7 years of clinical experience in speech and language therapy.Languages: English and Arabic (IET >/= 500).
