Job Summary
The Engineer – Power Distribution participates in the design of distribution and renewable energy projects. The role involves working closely with multidisciplinary project teams on the development of concept, schematic, detailed designs and tender documents that meet client requirements, local authority regulations, international standards, and applicable codes of practice. The Engineer contributes to delivering coordinated, high-quality engineering solutions across all project stages.
Key Responsibilities Support the development of concept designs for, including all required drawings and reports, for Distribution projects, for discussion with clientsRefine selected design options into schematic and draft final designs, including all required drawings and reports for Distribution projects, as instructedCoordinate with other design specializations (e.g. Architecture, Structural, Mechanical, Transportation) to coordinate design requirements across disciplines for non-complex design projects across all design stages (conceptual, schematic, detailed), as neededParticipate in discussions with clients to determine criteria guiding design, including budgets, preferences, etc.Review prepared design deliverables with senior project teams and implement design revisions based on reviews and checking reports, as neededCollect internally available data to support project executionSupport Senior Engineers with design value engineering activities, as neededSupport the senior project team with the review and validation of design deliverables with clients and authorities, capturing feedback and obtaining approvals, as neededClosely work with the Quantity Surveying Department for the development of tender documents, including specifications, and Bills of Quantities, as neededProvide support to Project Managers in developing periodic progress reports, as neededAssist Project Managers with implementing quality control policies and procedures on design deliverables and conduct peer review on team members' deliverables Required Qualifications, Experience, and Skills Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering1–3 years of relevant experience in power distribution and/or renewables design projects (buildings, infrastructure, or utility-scale projects)Working knowledge of power distribution systemsKnowledge in relevant engineering and design software, such as: ETAP, DialuxKnowledge in BIM and Revit is a plusFamiliarity with Middle East authority and international requirements and approval processes is an advantageGood communication and technical coordination skillsGood reporting and documentation skillsProficiency in spoken and written English and Arabic-
