Our Client is a leading independent reinsurance group, provide a wide range of niche and specialty reinsurance products to property and casualty insurers, now seeking to hire a "Assistant Manager - Technical Accounting" at their office in Beirut.

This position reports to the Manager -  Technical Accounting.

Supervises: Technical Accounting Dep.

Role Summary
Assist Department Manager in the day to day management of the Technical Accounting Department in Beirut. The job also involves the provision of operations related information to, and liaison with, other departments in the company as and when required.

Duties & Responsibilities

1. Maintain established departmental policies, procedures and objectives
2. Assist the manager in motivating, training and managing the staff to ensure they individually meet their annual objectives and collectively meet those of the department, using the performance Management process the Company has in place, making salary and promotion recommendations to the manager as required.
3. Assist the manager in monitoring staff performance, in order to identify any weaknesses, analyzing root causes, and dealing with them accordingly, in prior consultation with the manager, in order to stop recurrence.
4. Assist the manager in the management of the department staff, ensuring adequate resource levels, controlling absenteeism and ensuring that general work and office standards are met and the policies and procedures are followed.
5. Ensure that the Synergy2 data entry for premiums, quarterly accounts, and retrocession is accurate.
6. Assist in the managing the maintenance of accounts receivable and accounts payable for all Inward and Outward business including claims.
7. Assist in managing the credit control procedure to ensure that the company collects receivables within the periods stipulated in the Procedure manuals and escalates exceptions to the Department Manager or other relevant staff.
8. Assist in managing the Operational retrocession functions, ensuring terms of trade are met for both individual premiums and periodical accounts.
9. Assist in managing central operations mailbox in order to ensure the timely and accurate booking of inward and outward premium, and identify early, any increases in volume/tasks which may result in a backlog requiring additional resource.
10. Identify any failures of, or changes required, to current procedures and make recommendations to the Department Manager for the amendment of said procedures.
11. Manage and monitor the handling of routine problems and inquiries directly related to the Operations function.
12. Perform any other tasks as requested by manager

Job Requirements

Academic Qualifications: Bachelor degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Actuarial Sciences, or any related field
Required Language:   English ,Arabic
Required Software:  MS Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
Work experience: Minimum 5 years experience in a relevant field
Strong knowledge and experience in the insurance and reinsurance industry.
