Energy Sustainability Research Associate

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Energy Sustainability Research Associate to join our team at the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). This role is an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about renewable energy and sustainability to contribute to meaningful projects.

The successful candidate will work closely with the project team, partners, and beneficiaries to support background analysis and research on renewable energy and energy efficiency systems. Key responsibilities include:

• Assisting in conducting site visits and data collection surveys, as well as drafting surveys, desk research, data analysis, and database management.
• Researching and identifying possible Energy Efficiency Measures and Renewable Energy Measures, and conducting market assessments.
• Supporting the project team in monitoring implemented activities and related publications.
• Preparing energy-related presentations and technical documents.
• Conducting workshops, webinars, trainings, and capacity building sessions related to energy stakeholders.
• Researching best practices and identifying opportunities to accelerate energy innovation.
• Maintaining and updating website content and supporting social media engagement.

To be considered for this role, applicants must meet the following requirements:

• Be enrolled in a postgraduate degree programme in Renewable Energy or a related field, or have recently graduated with a university degree in Electrical/ Mechanical/ Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Have knowledge of renewable energy and energy efficiency measures, preferably with experience in the energy sector.
• Be proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, etc.) and software usage such as Autocad, PV Syst, Helioscope, TSOL, Homer, and Energy Plus.
• Be fluent in written and spoken English and Arabic, and have knowledge of French as a plus.
