As a Junior Accountant, you will be supporting the accounting team in maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records and assisting with day-to-day accounting activities. The role is responsible for recording financial transactions, maintaining supporting documentation, assisting with reconciliations, and providing general accounting support under the guidance of the Global Finance Director.
Responsibilities
Accurately record charges, payments, and other financial transactions in the accounting system, ensuring proper coding and supporting documentation
Assist in maintaining up-to-date accounts receivable records and monitoring outstanding customer balances
Assist with accounts payable activities, including recording supplier invoices and preparing documentation for payments
Maintain organized records of payment transfers and supporting documents for accurate tracking and reporting
Assist with the management of petty cash, including recording disbursements, maintaining supporting documentation, and monitoring balances
Assist with regular petty cash reconciliations and report any discrepancies to management
Record bank transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, and transfers, accurately and on a timely basis
Maintain organized records of bank transactions and supporting documentation
Assist with bank reconciliations and investigate differences under the guidance of management
Assist with maintaining accurate accounting records and documentation for month-end and year-end closing activities
Support the preparation of basic financial reports, schedules, and accounting documentation as required
Ensure accounting records are properly filed and maintained to support internal controls, audits, and financial reporting
Perform other accounting and administrative duties as assigned by the Global Finance Director
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
1–2 years of relevant accounting experience
Previous experience within the industry is considered an advantage
Good working knowledge of MS Excel, including basic formulas; knowledge of pivot tables is an advantage
Familiarity with accounting software/ERP systems is an advantage
Familiarity with Microsoft dynamics 365 business central accounting system
Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial processes
Good numerical and analytical skills
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Good organizational and time-management skills
Ability to follow procedures and maintain accurate records
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Willingness to learn and develop accounting knowledge and skills
Ability to maintain confidentiality when handling financial information
