Some of the most important learning happens before a child takes their first steps. At Countryside YMCA, our infant teachers help create those early experiences through nurturing relationships, playful discovery, and dependable daily care.
We're looking for a Part-Time Infant Teacher who enjoys working with babies, celebrates developmental milestones, and understands how much a caring, consistent presence means to children and their families.
As part of our early childhood education team, you'll help create a welcoming classroom where infants feel safe, families feel connected, and every child has the opportunity to grow. The role offers a complimentary individual membership to the Countryside YMCA.

Create meaningful moments every day.
-
Build positive, trusting relationships with infants through responsive care, comforting interactions, and age-appropriate play.
-
Support early development through activities that encourage movement, sensory exploration, communication, and social connections.
-
Partner with classroom teachers to create engaging daily experiences that reflect each infant's individual needs and developmental progress.
Make safety and well-being a priority.
-
Provide attentive supervision and hands-on care, including feeding, diapering, dressing, and supporting rest routines.
-
Follow safe sleep practices, sanitation procedures, and applicable Ohio childcare licensing requirements.
-
Maintain a clean, organized classroom by regularly sanitizing toys, equipment, and learning spaces.
-
Recognize developmental or behavioral concerns and communicate observations through appropriate classroom and center procedures.
Connect with families and your team.
-
Share updates about children's daily activities, accomplishments, and care routines.
-
Work collaboratively with fellow teachers to maintain a positive and supportive classroom environment.
-
Document daily care, observations, meals, and medication administration as required.
-
Follow Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) procedures, including point-of-service meal counts and required annual training.
Bring the YMCA mission to life.
-
Model the YMCA's core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility.
-
Participate in required training and professional development opportunities.
-
Help maintain a classroom culture where children and families feel a genuine sense of belonging.
-
Support additional classroom and center responsibilities as needed.
Qualifications
What You'll Bring

A patient, dependable, and nurturing approach to working with babies.
-
Strong communication skills and a willingness to collaborate with families and coworkers.
-
An understanding of early childhood development and age-appropriate learning experiences.
-
Current First Aid and CPR certification preferred, or the ability to obtain required certification within 30 days of hire and maintain it.
