ALFA is hiring: Senior External Auditor – French/English Speaker

Responsibilities:

• Lead the audit from planning to completion.
  

• Perform external audits of financial statements for private companies.
  

• Lead field engagement teams and act as a coach and mentor to junior staff.
  

• Perform analysis of complex accounting issues.
  

• Test internal controls and assess their effectiveness.
  

• Perform financial and systems analysis to support audit conclusions.
  

• Establish and maintain strong customer relationships.
  

• Review the work of junior staff and ensure quality standards are met.
  

• Demonstrate strong technical knowledge and the ability to research issues, present alternatives, and provide clear conclusions to clients or managers.
  

Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  

• 4–5 years of experience specifically in external audit.
  

• Knowledge of business trends and emerging technical and industry developments.
  

• Experience with Canadian financial standards (ASPE, IFRS) is a strong asset.
  

• Excellent project management, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.
  

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  

• Ability to work both independently and within a team environment.
  

• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to understand the client’s business and maintain strong relationships.
  

• Proficient in both written and verbal communication in English and French.
