We're looking for energetic, positive role models to guide young gymnasts and ninjas through fun, skill-building classes. If you enjoy movement, creativity, and making a difference in a child's day, this is the perfect opportunity — especially for those with daytime availability
All part-time staff working a minimum of 16 hours per quarter will be provided with a complimentary individual membership to the Countryside YMCA
QUALIFICATIONSMinimum 15 years of age
High School Diploma or currently enrolled in high school
1–2 years of experience as a gymnast or instructor preferred
Teach gymnastics or ninja skills in a safe, caring, and engaging environment with constant supervision and interaction.
Create a positive, dynamic atmosphere that builds children's confidence and self-esteem.
Model and incorporate the YMCA mission of developing a healthy mind, body, and spirit into all programs.
Demonstrate sound judgment, flexibility, creativity, and sensitivity in response to participant needs.
Administer discipline in accordance with the YMCA Code of Conduct.
Contribute to program improvement by developing class strategies, researching new ideas, and supporting methods of operation.
Communicate effectively with parents, children, and fellow staff members.
Maintain accurate attendance records for all participants.
Ensure the gym is clean, organized, and safe for all activities.
Work scheduled hours reliably; notify the Gymnastics Director and secure a substitute when needed.
Attend all required YMCA and program-specific trainings.
Support scholarship fundraising efforts as part of our commitment to community accessibility.
Adhere to all safety regulations and promptly report concerns to the Gymnastics Director and Risk Management.
Perform other duties as assigned to support program success and business needs.
Ability to demonstrate basic gymnastics and ninja skills with confidence and proper technique.
Reliable and punctual attendance to ensure consistent support for participants and programming.
Creativity and strong verbal and written communication skills to deliver engaging instruction and positive interaction with children and families.
Ability to supervise students with enthusiasm, appropriate boundaries, and a strong commitment to safety.
Employees age 18 and older must successfully pass a criminal background check as required by YMCA policy.
Ability to plan, lead, and actively participate in a broad range of activities in various indoor settings.
Must be able to adapt to changing noise levels within the gymnastics center.
Position may require: carrying, kneeling, pushing, sitting, climbing, lifting, running, stooping, crouching, pulling, standing, and walking.
Physical stamina and mobility sufficient to demonstrate skills and ensure participant safety.
