The Role
We're looking for a talented and motivated Tax Manager to join a fast-growing, innovative professional advisory firm working with closely held businesses in the automotive retail, construction, manufacturing, distribution, and other for-profit industries. Our ideal candidate is a self-motivated, entrepreneurial person with a team mentality and strong technical accounting and tax knowledge. You will be responsible for leading tax engagements and supervising a team of support staff. Our position provides a unique opportunity for significant growth within our firm, working directly with business owners and their financial professionals.
Responsibilities
- Lead and support a strong portfolio of auto dealership clients, in addition to engagements across other industries
- Occasional travel to auto dealership industry conferences across the U.S. - typically 3 per year in notable locations (such as Las Vegas, Napa, and Charleston)
- Provide initial and/or final review support for federal, state, and multi-state individual tax returns for corporate business owners and high net worth individuals
- Build client relationships and serve as trusted advisor to effectively deliver superior client services
- Identify opportunities for value-added services and potential cross-selling of other firm services to existing clients
- Exemplary leadership skills and the ability to mentor, train, and develop staff members
- Support partner team in practice development; including attending conferences, networking events, and training and speaking engagements
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience preparing and reviewing corporate and individual income tax returns
- Active CPA or EA
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field
- Proficient in project management including scheduling, budgeting, client correspondence, and research
- Strong attention to detail
- Integrity within a professional environment
Preferences
- Experience with CCH Axcess tax and Knowledge Coach
- Familiarity with automotive retail industry
Location
