Location: Lebanon, TN
JOB SUMMARY:
The Director of Loan Operations provides strategic oversite to the Loan Operations and Loan Development teams while working closely with Lending Support & Development and other business units as needed to align operational goals with the Bank's strategic objectives. This position requires evaluating loan processes for optimization, fostering collaboration across departments and developing the knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSAs) of team members through partnership with the Learning & Development (L&D) team, the Loan Operations Manager and Loan Development Manager. The Director of Loan Operations reports to the Chief Operating Officer and provides excellent service and support to team members and customers while demonstrating the Company's values and supporting the mission.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide strategic oversite and leadership to the Loan Operations Manager, Loan Development Manager and their teams
- Responsible for providing ongoing feedback, mentoring, and collaborating with department management regarding the professional development of team members
- Evaluate and optimize business systems and procedures to improve operational efficiency, identifying opportunities for refinement and innovation, and enhancing employee and customer experience
- Utilize data analytics to monitor performance metrics and identify challenges
- Oversee the management of internal controls, ERM issues, exam needs, regulatory needs, etc.
- Partner with the Learning & Development team to create targeted training programs for the ongoing development of team members
- Prioritize cross-functional collaboration with various business units to facilitate seamless operations and alignment with strategic goals
- Participate in recruitment, hiring, and succession planning for key roles in the department
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional associations
- Attend training as requested
- Adhere to compliance with all federal bank regulations and laws, including those for consumer protection and the Bank Secrecy Act/Anti-Money Laundering Program
- Participate in outside community activities as required
- Perform other duties as assigned
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School diploma or GED
- Bachelor's degree in finance, business administration or related field preferred
- 5 years of experience in bank lending, loan operations or related field
- 3 years of supervisory experience
- Strong leadership skills with experience in managing teams and fostering professional development
- Knowledge of lending processes, documentation, collateralization, UCC-1 Law, lien perfection, and Deeds of Trust
- Solid understanding of lending regulations, loan underwriting, audit standards and risk management relevant to the lending function
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and other standard software applications
- Strong analytical skills
- Effective written and verbal communication skills with strong presentation skills
