Laboratory Technician

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented lab technician to join a hospital in Kano, Nigeria. The lab technician will be responsible for performing laboratory tests and experiments in various areas of study, including chemistry, microbiology, hematology, phlebotomy, immunology, and serology. The lab technician will work with laboratory equipment to prepare and analyze samples, record data, and maintain laboratory equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct laboratory tests and experiments in various areas of study, including chemistry, microbiology, hematology, phlebotomy, immunology, and serology
- Prepare and analyze samples using laboratory equipment
- Record and analyze data accurately and efficiently
- Maintain laboratory equipment, including calibrating and troubleshooting instruments
- Follow strict protocols and safety procedures
- Collaborate with other members of the laboratory team to design and carry out experiments
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of laboratory procedures and results
- Manage laboratory inventory and order supplies as needed
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as biology, chemistry, or medical laboratory technology
- Strong analytical and technical skills
- Attention to detail and the ability to follow strict protocols and safety procedures
- Experience working in a laboratory setting, preferably in a research or clinical environment
- Knowledge of laboratory procedures and equipment in various areas of study, including chemistry, microbiology, hematology, phlebotomy, immunology, and serology
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment
