Cloud Engineer

The Cloud Engineer ensures the availability, performance, and security of IT infrastructure for clients. This role includes initial contact for troubleshooting, as well as implementing, managing, and monitoring IT infrastructure projects.

• Design, implement, and support Azure cloud infrastructure including Azure Active Directory, Microsoft Intune, Backup solutions, and related cloud technologies.
• Deploy, administer, and support Microsoft environments including Windows Server, Active Directory, Exchange, DNS, Teams, and SharePoint.
• Configure, monitor, and optimize hybrid setups integrating Azure with on-premises systems.
• Implement and support large-scale enterprise solutions with minimal supervision.
• Design, configure, and maintain enterprise storage solutions (EMC, NetApp, HP).
• Proactively manage and monitor all installed systems, applications, and infrastructure.
• Maintain expertise in SIEM solutions and contribute to security monitoring and event management.
• Stay abreast of evolving cloud and security technologies; acquire certifications aligned with Azure and related platforms.
• Install, configure, test, and maintain operating systems (Windows/Linux), application software, and management tools.
• Ensure high levels of systems and infrastructure availability, security, backup, and redundancy.
• Diagnose and resolve system issues, predict future trends, and provide recommendations for client solutions.
• Monitor and test application performance, identify bottlenecks, and collaborate with developers on optimizations.
• Develop and maintain automation scripts to improve efficiency and reduce manual tasks.
• Participate in the design and documentation of information and operational support systems.
• Provide 2nd and 3rd level support; liaise with vendors and IT peers for resolution of escalated issues.
• Mentor and guide L1 engineers in troubleshooting and resolving issues across servers and endpoints (Windows/MAC).
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Technical Skills:

• Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure services (Compute, Virtual Networks, Storage, Azure AD, Key Vault, etc.)
• Experience deploying, configuring, and managing Azure Virtual Machines
• Knowledge of Azure Virtual Networks (VNet peering, NSGs, routing, VPN Gateway, ExpressRoute)
• Understanding of Azure Storage Accounts (Blob, Files, Disks, Encryption)
• Experience with Azure Backup & Site Recovery
• Experience with Azure Identity & Access Management (IAM) and Azure Active Directory
• Familiarity with Infrastructure-as-Code (ARM Templates, Bicep, Terraform)
• Experience using Azure Update Manager, Monitor, Log Analytics, Application Insights
• Familiarity with App Services, Functions, API Management
• Knowledge of Azure Security Center / Defender for Cloud
• Understanding of Azure Automation, Runbooks, & Functions
• Hands-on experience with backup solutions, Google Workspace, and multi-cloud environments.
• Solid knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server and Linux operating systems.
• Foundational knowledge of security principles.
• Experience with virtualization, containerization, and monitoring systems.
• Strong scripting and automation skills (PowerShell, Bash, or equivalent).
• Good networking knowledge (OSI model, TCP/IP, DNS, firewalls, routing).
• Excellent troubleshooting skills.

Education:

• • Bachelor s degree in computer science, Computer Engineer or related fields. Master's degree is a plus.

Experience:

• • Minimum of 5 years in in cloud and IT infrastructure implementation/support.
• Strong expertise in Azure services, AKS, Azure Active Directory, Microsoft Intune, and Office 365.

Certifications:

• • Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, MCSE) are highly desirable.
