The Facilities Maintenance Technician at Western University of Health Sciences (WesternU) is a versatile and hands-on position responsible for ensuring the efficient operation and maintenance of various university facilities that reports directly to the Executive Director of Customer Experience and Campus Aesthetics. This role involves performing a wide range of general maintenance tasks, assisting with moves and event setups, coordinating contractors for more complex projects, and providing oversight of janitorial services. The Facilities Maintenance Technician plays a crucial role in maintaining a safe, functional, and inviting campus environment for students, faculty, and staff.
Required Qualifications
Qualifications: Basic knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, electrical systems, and HVAC . Excellent computer skills necessary to set up document formats in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Outlook and any other software programs required by this position. Valid Driver's License (will require background check) Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects as required. Occasional travel to other campus locations and clinics required. Education: Any combination of education, training and/or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. High school diploma or equivalent; relevant trade school or vocational training is a plus. Experience: 2+years of experience in general maintenance, facilities management, or related field.
