The BMS Technician is responsible for monitoring, maintaining, and troubleshooting the school's Building Management System to ensure optimal performance of HVAC, lighting, fire alarms, energy systems, and other integrated building services. The work mainly includes daily operation, maintenance, repair, and preventive maintenance of all related equipment. The technician plays a key role in maintaining a safe, comfortable, and energy-efficient environment for students, staff, and visitors.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:


Monitor BMS dashboards and control panels to ensure all systems (HVAC, lighting, alarms, fuel systems, chillers, boilers, power outage, generators, public address, and other systems etc.) are functioning correctly. E
Coordinate complex responses to campus emergencies and diagnose responses to environmental systems' issues.E
Read and interpret graphics and systems of operation and make system adjustments via the BMS. E
Maintain parameters and settings of all systems monitored and controlled by BMS to conform to LEED.E
Requirements based on operational needs or school activities. E
Produce reports, graphs, and statistics periodically as requested by LEED. E
Perform routine checks and preventive maintenance on all BMS-related hardware and software. E
Diagnose and repair faults in sensors, controllers, actuators, and other BMS components. E
Monitor energy consumption trends and suggest adjustments to improve energy efficiency. E
Implement schedules and occupancy-based settings to reduce energy use during off-hours. E
Work with all physical plant employees, IT teams, and outside contractors to carry out work related to BMS systems, and cross functional issues in daily operations, school events, or emergencies. E
Maintain accurate records of system configurations, maintenance logs, and incident reports.E
Assist in preparing reports on system performance, energy usage, and technical issues. E
Maintain data integrity of all calls, alarms, and actions and always coordinates with the computerized maintenance management system. E
Monitor BMS for changes outside of normal operating parameters and report these to the relevant person/organization. E
Adjust settings on the BMS systems as instructed. E
Contact the relevant authorities/persons during an emergency and highlight any maintenance issues that may arise. E
Ensure all work is performed in accordance with local safety codes and school policies. E
Support compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations. E
Perform other similar or related duties as required by the line management. E

Requirements

TS Diploma (Technicien Supérieur - Higher Technician Certificate) in Electrical, Mechanical, or Electronics.

years of related experience in BMS systems preferably in a school setting or educational environment.

Strong knowledge of HVAC and electrical systems.

Technical proficiency in BMS software and hardware.

Problem-solving and diagnostic skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Good communication and reporting skills.

Familiarity with safety standards and building codes.

Fair knowledge of spoken and written Arabic and English.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint), Google Workspace, and database systems.
