The Director of Procurement is responsible for designing and leading Capital Partner's end-to-end procurement strategy across all business units. This role ensures the company achieves optimal value, cost efficiency, quality, and compliance in all sourcing and purchasing activities. Operating as an independent Group-level function, the Director sets procurement policy, oversees strategy development, and partners with business units, finance, operations, and legal to drive supplier performance and cost savings while ensuring ethical and sustainable practices.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
Strategy Formulation
Develop and execute the Group Procurement Strategy for Non-Food Merchandise aligned with corporate objectives, growth roadmap, and financial goals.
Create strategic sourcing plans across key categories (Retail, Logistics, Real Estate, IT, Services, Construction).
Set annual procurement KPIs and savings targets, report monthly to the Group CEO.
Advise the Executive Committee on market conditions, supplier trends, and risk exposure.
Governance, Policies & Risk Management
Establish group-wide procurement policies, procedures, and controls ensuring consistency, transparency, and compliance with applicable laws and internal regulations.
Ensure all procurement activities adhere to ethical sourcing, sustainability standards, and delegated authority thresholds.
Lead procurement audits and risk reviews in collaboration with Internal Audit and Finance
Strategic Sourcing & Cost Management
Lead high-value negotiations, tenders, and contracts for CAPEX and OPEX spend across the Group.
Identify cost-saving opportunities through vendor consolidation, alternative sourcing, and volume leverage.
Develop make-or-buy strategies, contract lifecycle management frameworks, and supplier performance scorecards.
Champion value engineering and total cost of ownership (TCO) principles across categories.
Stakeholder Engagement & Functional Leadership
Partner with Finance, Legal, Operations, IT, Real Estate, and Site Project Managers to plan, forecast, and execute procurement needs.
Represent Procurement in Executive Meetings and Investment Committees when evaluating supplier-driven CAPEX projects.
Guide and support BU Procurement Liaisons to ensure local compliance and efficiency.
Act as the Group's lead interface with key suppliers, contractors, and service provider
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in business administration, or a related field
Master's degree in business administration or related field would be an advantage.
Minimum of 10–15 years of progressive experience in procurement or strategic sourcing, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
