CS Engineer

Description

The Division Engineer is part of the Operations organization and reports directly to the Operation Manager

This position is responsible of the safe operation and maintenance of Electric Distribution Network by implementing reliability best practices. He/she is accountable to ensure provision of electricity connections with the highest levels of quality, safety and excellence; demonstrating professionalism in all customer dealings and ensuring that all actions are driven by customer needs and Organizational KPIs.

Duties and Responsibilities

The principal responsibilities of the Division Engineer are to:

1- Plan, execute, control and report all activities that involve network operation, maintenance and customers' applications.

2- Ensure the Operations and Maintenance teams comply with safe work practices through administration, enforcement of company and utility policies, procedures and training.

3- Provide leadership to ensure the proper technical assistance and support have a primary focus on resolving operational problems and optimizing the efficiency of maintenance and customers' services activities.

4- Ensure the Operations and Maintenance teams respond to emergency calls, ON or OFF shift hours, concerning outages, and facilitate the necessary repairs in a timely manner.

5- Determine cause and restore common casualties

6- Read, interpret and understand electrical schematic diagrams and wiring diagrams

7- Gather and manage network operational data

8- Assess network condition and propose rehabilitation and reinforcement of MV and LV networks

9- Prioritize, supervise and follow up the execution of the construction activities

10- Set up and execute planned preventive maintenance of electrical distribution network

11- Possess extensive knowledge and experience to safely and correctly use testing instruments and accurately interpret parameters obtained

12- Organize and execute all work order requests assigned in a timely and safe manner

13- Track customers' applications and ensure timely deliverables

14- Conduct effective performance evaluations

15- Establish and maintain a professional and consistent positive work environment

16- Communicate effectively and regularly with the client

The division engineer coordinates directly with the followings:

1- The head of Customer Services for the scheduling and execution of the applications;

2- The head of Meter Reading & Bill Collection for the disconnection/reconnection of outstanding bills;

3- Head of Call Center for the incidents and customers' technical complaints;

4- The network planning and design engineer for the proposals of network expansion and development;

5- The planning & cost control engineer for the accuracy of reports and assets quantity surveys;

6- The AMI engineer for the inspections before and after the installation of the smart meters;

7- The QA/QC engineer/officer for the handing over of the activities; network development projects, maintenance and customer services applications.

The division engineer coordinates directly with EDL head of the division for the day-to day business activities of the division, and for the handing over and approvals of completed works

Requirements

Electrical or Communication Engineering degree from a reputable university

Min. 5 years experience in a relevant industry.

Excellent leadership skills.

Organization skills.

Ability to work under pressure.
