At Shelvz, the UI/UX Designer role goes beyond just creating attractive visuals; it's about designing intuitive and immersive user experiences. As part of our team, you'll play a key role in defining the user experience across our platform, ensuring smooth interactions and boosting user satisfaction.

You are entitled to create a user friendly and visually appealing digital product, and bridging the gap between user needs and business goals, crafting designs that not only look good but also offer a seamless and enjoyable user experience.

Key skills needed for success in this role include a solid grasp of user-centric design concepts, expertise in design software, and a meticulous attention to detail. You'll work closely with our Product, Engineering, and Marketing departments to transform user feedback into engaging design solutions that foster user loyalty and engagement.

Key Responsibilities

Designing the overall look and feel of the product, including color schemes, typography, and imagery, to create a visually pleasing interface.Creating wireframes and mockups to outline the structure and layout of the user interface, ensuring intuitive navigation and user flow.Developing interactive prototypes to simulate user interactions and test the usability of the design.Ensuring consistency in design elements and patterns across the product to maintain a cohesive user experience.Conducting user research, such as surveys, interviews, and usability testing, to understand user needs, behaviors, and pain points.Organizing and structuring the content and features of the product to facilitate easy navigation and information retrieval.Creating user personas to represent different user groups and mapping out user journeys to identify key touchpoints and interactions.Conducting usability testing sessions to evaluate the effectiveness of the design and gather feedback for improvements.Incorporating feedback from users and stakeholders to iteratively refine and improve the design.Collaborate with cross-functional teams including developers, product managers, and customer service to ensure requirements are delivered with high-quality standards.Creating design documentation, style guides, and specifications to guide development and ensure design consistency.Stay updated with UI/UX trends and tools.

Requirements

Bachelorâs degree in Design, Computer Science, or a related field.Proven experience (3+ years) as a UI/UX Designer, with a strong portfolio of design projects.Deep understanding of UI/UX design tools such as Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, and In Vision.Strong analytical skills with an ability to gather and interpret both qualitative and quantitative feedback.A keen eye for aesthetics and details, and the ability to maintain high design standards under pressure.Experience conducting usability tests and comfort in using analytics software to analyze user behavior.Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teamsStrong communication and presentation skills.Excellent problem-solving skills and familiarity with technical constraints and limitations as they apply to designing for platforms such as desktop and mobile (iOS and Android).Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders.Proficiency in HTML/CSS; JavaScript is a plus.
